Wonder World Cave and Amusement Park is a one-of-a-kind theme park, known as the 1st show cave in Texas. Visitors have enjoyed touring the Balcones Fault Line Cave for over 105 years, and now, the park has many other attractions for family fun and entertainment.

Wonder World is a proposed newspaper publication about Wonder World Cave and Adventure Park and the impact the park has had on San Marcos, Texas. This would be a quarterly publication for the San Marcos newspaper.

Challenge: 

Design a newsprint publication in response to a cultural space. Utilize typography as the primary mode of storytelling and documentation.

Approach:

As a lover of the city of San Marcos and geology, I have been fascinated with the only earthquake-formed cave in America and how the park has influenced San Marcos.

In this publication, I feature a historical timeline, an underground survey map, an interview with the owner of the park, and Geography from the tour of the cave. Designing this publication I wanted to reflect on the themes of ascending and descending, layers, wonder, and adventure.
